Fourteen year old Rachel, her father Norman, and her mother Ingrid are an eccentric family. Norman, a dairy farmer, dreams of being an orchestra conductor, and Ingrid, is always butting heads with the townspeople. Norman makes a surprise announcement that he's putting together a classical concert. Everyone must wait to see if this eccentric family can win over the townspeople or end up as the town's laughingstock.
Based on the novel by Garrison Keillor and Jenny Lind Nilsson, this entertaining film will amuse all of us who have at one time or another struggled to belong.
