"Tennessee Williams' 'The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone' ", a multi-nominated Golden Globe nominee is based on the novel of the same name. It is the story of aging American actress Karen Stone (Mirren) who flees to Italy after a failed Broadway performance. Adding to her distress, her husband dies suddenly. Desperate and alone, Karen is introduced to Paolo (Martinez), an incredibly handsome gigolo. Before long, their casual fling becomes an obsession that spirals Karen's life out of control.
