In the not too distant future, Earth has been taken over by menacing robots that control humans with an electronic implant. If anyone gets spotted outside their war-torn homes, they are blasted into oblivion by mechanical sentries. Kate (Golden Globe Winner? Gillian Anderson ? "The X-Files," The Last King of Scotland, The X Files: I Want to Believe) has given up finding her husband, who disappeared after the last, great robot war, much to the delight of Mr, Smythe (Academy Award Winner? Ben Kingsley - Gandhi, Schindler's List, Sexy Beast, Shutter island) who works as the human mediator for the robots. kate's teenage son Sean and his group of friends plan a way to find Sean's father, though it will entail near impossible feats of desperation. With humankind on the brink od extinction, that's a chance they're willing to take.
