Human rights lawyer Sarah Barcant ('Hilary Swank', 'Boys Don't Cry', 'Million Dollar Baby') and Alex Mpondo (Chiwetel Ejiofar, 'Inside Man', 'Kinky Boots') find their lives changed forever by a brutal crime from the past, committed under the apartheid regime in South Africa. Police officer Dirk Hendricks (Jamie Bartlett, 'Beyond Borders', 'Bravo Two Zero') is seeking amnesty for acts of torture he carried out. Sarah returns home to represent Alex, who was once a political activist, held captive against his will and sadistically tortured at the hands of Officer Hendricks. Together, as Sarah and Alex delve deeper into the past crimes, they will come to learn that nothing is more dangerous than the truth.
