Academy-Award? winner Diane Keaton plays Fran, a bumbling bookkeeper forced to work for mob boss Joe Maloni (Paul Sorvino) to pay off her late husband's gambling debts. When an attempt is made on Maloni's life, Fran picks up a gun and accidentally gives Maloni's would-be assassins a fatal case of lead poisoning. Thrilled with Fran's newfound talents, Maloni makes her his hitwoman and sends her out for revenge. But frantic Fran has other plans: she turns her brother's (Bob Balaban) home into a safe house, hiding the mobsters she's supposed to be killing! It's called organized crime.
