Academy Award winners Charlton Heston and George Kennedy star in this boxoffice blockbuster, co-written by Mario Puzo ('The Godfather') and scored by John Williams ('Star Wars'), who collaborated on 'Superman.' Construction engineer Stewart Graff (Heston) is coping with conflicts involving the women in his life (Oscar nominees Ava Gardner and Genevieve Bujold) and his father-in-law--and boss--Sam Royce (Lorne Greene). When the big one finally hits L.A., Graff must try to rescue Royce, who's trapped in his own building, as tough cop Lew Slade (Kennedy) and motorcycle daredevil Miles Quade (Richard Roundtree) fight for life. Presented in its original wide-screen format, 'Earthquake' features Oscar-winning special effects by Albert Whitlock, and was directed by two-time Academy Award nominee Mark Robson ('Champion,' 'Peyton Place').
