Seven-year-old Albert has the most wonderful imaginary friend of all: a playful gentle giant named Bogus! A happy face sketched by a lonely Albert comes to life -- as does this comedy charmer directed by Norman Jewison and sparked by the star trio Whoopi Goldberg, Gerard Depardieu and Haley Joel Osment.

Goldberg is ambitious businesswoman Harriet, with no time for family. But family is what she gets when orphaned Albert (Osment) is placed in her care. Can a kid raised in Las Vegas glitter adapt to Harriet's gritty Newark neighborhood? Can a woman with no motherly bone in her body reach out to the boy?
